Fitter training 2024

Foreword by Andreas Reich, Head of Assembly & Service Department

"My aim is to plan work with foresight and improve the well-being of the technicians, which in turn is reflected in customer feedback.

Our technicians are provided with all the protective equipment they need to work safely, but it is also becoming increasingly important to work in teams in order to have a suitable person on site for the rescue chain in an emergency."

Our two-day fitter training course was held in-house at the beginning of January, with our mechanical and electrical fitters completing their annual basic instruction and height training.

This year, the focus was on construction site safety and the legal requirements and technical improvements, which is why a presentation was given by an external AUVA safety officer in advance.

A particular highlight of this year's height training was the practical exercises in the Ried climbing hall, which were held in partnership with Mr Badegruber from Badi's Adventures. This also allowed us to practise rescuing an unconscious person to avoid suspension trauma.

To bring our employees in the field up to date at the beginning of the year, innovations were presented by each department. During these two days, there is always a lively exchange between the office staff and our fitters, with numerous suggestions for improvement and ideas being collected.

We always endeavour to offer our employees and customers the best quality. That's why we put a lot of effort into the further education and training of our employees. Last year, in addition to the annual training, we organised a 16-hour first aid course for our in-house fitters.

It should be emphasised that all of our employees in assembly have first aid training and therefore no safety personnel need to be provided by our customers on the construction site.

A detailed review of the past year is also an integral part of the annual report. The year 2023 was a real challenge, especially for our fitters, as more projects were realised than ever before.

A big thank you is due to the employees "on the front line", who mastered the construction sites with the utmost care despite the stressful times. It should also be mentioned that, despite the turbulent times, there were no serious or moderately serious accidents at work.

The two days were filled with interesting innovations, lots of information and open discussions. The concentrated information left one or two heads spinning, but these were quenched over a cosy after-work beer and refreshments at the Weberbräu in Ried.
