Mühlböck drying technology installed a Classic belt dryer in Nawaro Energie's brand-new pelleting plant in Göpfritz an der Wild, which meets the high sustainability and efficiency standards of this plant.

In addition to the existing wood-fired power plant, the 47,000 square meter site of Nawaro Energie in Göpfritz an der Wild (Waldviertel) is now also home to one of the most modern pelleting plants in the country with a capacity of up to 80,000 tons of quality pellets per year.

The raw material, which comes from the region, such as sawdust and wood chips, is dried on an efficient Mühlböck Classic belt dryer using the heat generated from the power plant. "A special feature of this project is the use of thermal energy in the form of steam from the power plant," describes Managing Director Richard Mühlböck. In the subsequent production hall, the pellets are produced by means of two powerful presses. The plant capacity is about 10 t/h.

In the pelletizing plant, not only the waste heat from the adjacent wood-fired power plant is used. A photovoltaic system with an output of around 742 kilowatt-peak will also be installed on the roof surface and silos of the plant in the fall of 2023 - a further detail of the sustainability concept of this modern production plant. In addition, very extensive noise abatement measures were implemented by Mühlböck in order to integrate the plant as mindfully as possible into the environment.

According to Nawaro Energie, the positive feedback from other operators regarding technology, quality, and plant availability at Mühlböck were also decisive for the selection of the Mühlböck belt dryer. "When selecting suppliers, Nawaro Energie also paid particular attention to contracting local companies and being able to maintain a trusting relationship with the respective contact persons," says Mühlböck.
