A wealth of drying knowledge, extensive and many years of experience with heat recovery systems and satisfied customers and retailers characterise the Belt Drying and Sawmill By-Product Drying System Department at the Upper-Austrian drying specialist Mühlböck from Eberschwang.

Project LOC, Arbing (AT)

Arbing in Upper Austria currently sees the construction of that state’s first cross laminated timber plant. While assembly work is still going on in the production hall, the three dry kilns located in front of it are already working at full capacity.

Project SCS Scierie et Caisserie de Steinbourg

Mühlböck has stood for timber drying at the highest level, state-of-the-art technology and reliable service quality ever since the company was founded 40 years ago. In the course of expanding its operations at the SCS Scierie et Caisserie sawmill in Steinbourg, 8 new combined drying and steam kilns made by the Austrian drying specialist were put into operation.

When Power Wood Corp. of Surrey moved their Custom Cedar production to a new location in Agassiz B.C., Canada this summer, they too chose Mühlböck to design their new 4 kiln drying capacity, with the flexibility of installation in 2 phases.

The First Nations owned Meadow Lake Tribal Council Bioenergy Centre has started their ambitious project of generating carbon-neutral green power, by building a 6.6 MW power generation system that is fueled primarily by biomass sawmill residuals.

The K5 control software is always state of the art. The programming of the PLC and the user interface takes place completely at the Eberschwang location. The in-house research and development ensures continuous optimization of the control system and incorporating the customer's wishes into the development is an integral part of the process.


Construction and production

The experience of 12,500 successful drying kilns worldwide, guarantees high-quality processing through perfected processes, use of first-class industrial components and reliable delivery times worldwide.

Installation and commisioning

The installation is carried out by a well-trained and experienced team, which understands the local conditions and to assemble the equipment reliably, expertly and in the agreed time. During commissioning, customers are trained both in operating the drying kiln itself and in using the K5 software.
